Vet Visits, Transport & Post Operative Care
The Foster Carer will be asked to transport their foster pet for at least 1 vet visit, usually for Desexing, a Health Check, and Vaccination. You may also be asked to collect the pet from a pound or a home, if possible. Foster Carers also provide care for their foster pet after any surgery or procedure.
Provide Enrichment & Companionship
Pets require nurturing, training, companionship, enrichment, socialisation, exercise, a comfortable, safe environment and good nutrition. Some pets may need guidance with walking on a leash, toilet training, or using a litter box.
The Adoption Process & Meet n Greet
It is part of the Foster Carer’s Role to create a pet profile by observing your pet to describe their personality and temperament, which helps the Animal Rescue match the pet to an individual, couple, or family for adoption. You may also be asked to conduct a Meet n Greet for your foster pet. You may also have the opportunity to adopt your foster pet.
