About Us
PetStar is a website to help bring together Animal Rescues, Foster Carers, and individuals wanting to adopt or rehome a pet.
1
You can join as a Foster Carer and search for Animal Rescue.
2
You can join as an Animal Rescue and search for a Foster Carer. Rescues can post their pets for "Rescue Adoption".
3
You can post your pet for rehoming as a "Private Adoption".
An individual can also search for an Animal Rescue to inquire about surrendering their pet. There may be a surrender fee involved.
The best option, in the current climate, is to rehome your pet privately and to exhaust all avenues prior to approaching an Animal Rescue.
The current situation is very desperate for Shelters, Pounds and Animal Rescues. Thousands of animals are being put to sleep due to overcrowding in pounds and shelters, which in turn has meant many Animal Rescues are at capacity. In addition, many animals are being rescued from rural pounds.
Why not just advertise using social media?
The information you receive is inconsistent, and often basic information, which is required by law, is not supplied.
- Pets for adoption at PetStar are microchipped, vaccinated and desexed by Animal Rescues.
- PetStar allows you to search on extensive criteria such as breed, age size and location so that you can find the pet that suits you.
- Private Adoptions must be desexed and microchipped.
Social Media is extremely short-lasting; endless scrolling takes time and it’s not guaranteed you’ll find what you’re looking for.
Here at PetStar there are many preferences you can search
Breed, age, size, location, sociable with other dogs, with children, with cats, toilet trained, obedience trained etc.
The benefit of adopting a pet that is living in a home environment is that the Foster Carer or Owner can describe the pet’s behaviours, likes/dislikes, socialisation with children, and other pets, giving you greater peace of mind of their temperament.
